The PDPL is a law that applies on a national level and so, unlike other KSA sector specific laws dealing with privacy laws to date, the PDPL will apply to all sectors (with certain possible exceptions, discussed below). It becomes fully effective on 23 March 2022. Transfers may still require approval by the data regulator.
